ABOUT

…THE BAND

The Comox Valley Concert Band was formed in 1947 from the nucleus of the 62nd Anti-tank Battery Band under the direction of Harold Dixon. It now performs at various events and locations in the Comox Valley usually 4 times per year including Mother’s Day, June on the grass at Comox marina park, July 1st festivities in Courtenay and a winter concert . Every week, between fifty and sixty musicians of all ages and backgrounds meet to work on repertoire of marches, band originals, orchestral transcriptions and popular music under the baton of Peter Wenzek.

…rehearsals

Rehearsals are held on Tuesday nights from September to June, 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Mark Isfeld High School band room at 1551 Lerwick Rd., E. Courtenay, BC. is our rehearsal space.

…how to join

This is a non auditioned community band, however previous experience on an instrument and the ability to read music is mandatory. This is not a beginning band. Please contact us prior to season start date if you want to join.
